Paredon Surf House, Guatamala

Paredon Surf House was the dream house of two surfers, James and Christoph, who had been coming to Paredon for the superb surf for years. In 2010 they opened their surf house and since then the establishment has been growing to now include a hotel as well as casitas.

The surf house can sleep 30. It’s very open and is designed to maximize the flow of the sea breeze. While fans are provided for those especially hot nights, they’re not often needed. With showers opened to the sky and towering bamboo trees, they’re perfect for an oracular shampoo under the stars.

The local beach break is never crowded, and with a ton of exposure it picks up just about every swell that rolls through the Pacific and over to Guatemala. Typical wave heights are chest-to head-high from November to April, and head-high plus from May to October.
